    Hotel Hafnia [maincontentTabcontent]

A hotel in the historical part of town. From the hotel’s roof terrace, there is a unique panoramic view over the whole town and harbour. In the 30's and 40's Christian Restorff rented out rooms on their family estate on a yearly basis. This ceased in 1950 when Mr. Restorff decided to demolish the estate and build a hotel in its place. In 1951 the hotel opened and was named Hafnia - which is latin for "harbour". All through the 50's, 60's and 70's Hotel Hafnia expanded into its present position as one of the foremost hotels in The Faroe Islands.

Mr. Restorff insisted on Hotel Hafnia being unsurpassed by Faroese standards. He was successful in acheving this. The hotel is full of atmosphere and the staff team is doing theire outermost best to keep it that way.

    Hotel Føroyar [maincontentTabcontent]

The hotel is located in a wonderfully calm and quiet area, yet only 6 minutes from town by car. Should you prefer walking into town, it takes approximately 25 minutes via well-worn sheep trails that find their way through the beautiful and peaceful landscape. Hotel Føroyar offers breathtaking views of Tórshavn from all rooms. In other words - an excellent base for a stay.

The closest neighbours are the birds that often nest outside on the roof, right by the windows - perhaps you are the lucky one to see an egg hatch one day. Then there are the omnipresent Faroese sheeps, that walk silently around grassing right outside.
